Southend-on-Sea City Council have recently launched the Southend Cool Spaces interactive map that highlights public cooling spots for the hot weather across the city.

You can find all the water refill points, publicly available indoor cool spaces, such as libraries and museums, and cooler areas including parks and tree cover on the map. Residents and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of these cooler areas to shelter from the sun, cool down and rest to take respite on hot summer days.

Below is an embedded version of the map, can also access the map on the Smart Southend platform.

If you would like to add your venue or location to the map, you can do so by filling out this Cool Spaces Form or emailing climatechange@southend.gov.uk.

Your submission will be reviewed and included in the next update of the map.
