Shoebury Community Hub

….situated in West Road, Shoebury Community Hub serves both the residents of Shoebury and beyond. Behind our yellow doors is a space teaming with life and activities that are enjoyed by a wide variety of people. From ‘Folks Like Us’ a group for the over 60’s who are in the hub every Monday and Wednesday to Yoga on Tuesday and Thursday, photography, Local and Royal History, Board Games, Film groups, Bingo and much more, this place buzzes with enthusiasm, happy to work with other community groups to provide the best for our community. You may or may not know that it is home to The Little Free Library Project run by Chris Gostling, these libraries can be found around the area as far as Stambridge. We are committed to Climate Change and are currently working to make Shoebury plastic free…..we look forward to picking up this project when we re-open.

It has not been empty during this period of lockdown, instead has been the centre for coordinating the making of scrubs, hats, bags, gowns and masks for those hospitals and care homes struggling to work in the most difficult situations without adequate protection. Our community and beyond has rallied round by donating material, cutting out patterns, delivering and collecting from machinists to hospitals and care homes, the hub has been a hive of industry and still continues to do this today.
We are making plans to reopen as soon as we can by painting and cleaning to make the space as safe as possible…….
